Agathe (Tara) Utard

Agathe has been practicing Yoga for 20 years. She was certified as Yoga teacher by Himayoga in 2012, and is also a certified traditional Thai masseuse.
Her teaching style is pedagogical and precise. She discovers Iyengar Yoga in 2001. Trained mainly in this deep and subtle technique, she also follows the Prana Flow teachings of Shiva Réa, a contemporary Vinyasa style. While she favors a joyful therapeutic approach to Yoga, based on the understanding of posture and its subtleties, her spiritual path and training in classical philosophy deepen her practice.
Agathe grew up in Asia, then studied in Paris. Feeling affinities with ancient wisdom, she has traveled  in different continents to learn from a wide range of traditions: Ayurvedic with Kalaripayat Masters, traditional Martial Arts in Kerala, traditional meditation practices among Tibetan monks in various Vipassana centers, and Heart meditation with Amma as well as work sacred medicinal plants.

She offers a number of massage styles, but Thai is her speciality – and her passion. « Thai massage is a kind of choreography – you dance with somebody » Unlike other massage styles, no oil is used and guests remain clothed – though oil can be applied to feet, hands and back on request. “People who’ve never experienced Thai massage aren’t used to a treatment without oil, or they think it might hurt, But I’ve been trained in a technique that is gentle but effective. Going slowly is important; it means you can go deep without creating resistance. » This treatment is a hypnotic pleasure. Combining assisted yoga stretching with rhythmic kneading and rocking, its lull is impossible to resist. As your body is drawn into a soothing flow, tension melts and energy lines are cleared. With roots in the ancient healing traditions of Chinese, Buddhist and Ayurvedic medicine, the technique has been practiced in temples for centuries. Unsurprising, then, that it’s the essence of tranquillity.

What others say about Agathe

When I was on Ibiza I got this extreme pain in my shoulder. I could not move it without pain. Qi-biza introduced me to Agathe. She came the next day and I only can say it was a very intense experience. My body felt different. The pain left my shoulder. This was the work of a professional with very special skills. I can recommend this kind of massage which is different then I had before but very effective.
